Made in India · The Layout Office

Your phone should not ring for six months because you looked up a college.

Nowlledge tracks admission deadlines, fees and dates for Indian colleges. Every number links to the college’s own official page. We never ask for your phone number — so there is nothing to sell.

Free. No account, no password, no phone number.

The thing nobody tells you

Those other sites are not search engines. They are lead generators.

Enter your number to “download the brochure” and it is sold to colleges the same day. The calls that follow are the product. You were never the user — you were the inventory.

Nowlledge has no phone number to sell, no ad slots, and no way for a college to pay its way up the list. That is not a policy we could quietly drop later — it is the entire reason this exists.

How it works

Three taps, then it watches for you.

No account to create. Open it and start.

Find your colleges

Search 540 colleges — IITs, NITs, IIITs, state and private. Filter by your home state, your budget, or government-only. Nothing is sponsored, so the order means something.

Track the ones you apply to

Every date for every college you track lands in one list, sorted by what is closest. Mark each one as you move: interested, applied, fee paid, admitted.

Get told before it is too late

7 days, 2 days and 12 hours before anything that matters. Scheduled on your own phone, so a reminder still fires with no signal at all.

Why you can trust a number here

Five checks stand between a page on the internet and a figure in your app.

Fees and dates are read automatically from colleges’ own websites. Reading automatically is easy. Reading correctly is the hard part, so nothing is published until it clears all of this:

Two readers must agree

Pattern matching reads the page, then a language model reads it, and if they disagree a third reader settles it with a differently worded question. Two must land on the same number.

The page must be the college’s own

The allowed list is built from the colleges themselves, so nitt.edu and manipal.edu count. Aggregator sites never will.

The number must be believable

Tuition between ₹5,000 and ₹30 lakh. A phone number misread as a fee fails here, every time.

It must be for this year

A fee sheet from 2022 shown as current is worse than showing nothing. Old documents are rejected even when they are labelled otherwise.

Students must not have flagged it

Tap “This looks wrong” on any figure. Three independent reports and we stop trusting ourselves until the source has been read again.

And when nothing clears the bar, you see nothing. Not an estimate, not a range, not “approximately”. An empty field is honest. An invented one is not.

The difference

Same information. Opposite business model.

Also worth knowing

Built for how admissions actually go.

Works with no internet

Everything you have opened stays on your phone. On a train, in a village, on 2G at 2am — your deadlines are still there, and reminders still fire.

The full cost, not the headline

Tuition, hostel, mess and one-time charges, added up across four years. Quoting tuition alone is the quiet deception of this category — families decide on the whole number.

Deadline alerts cannot be muted

Application closing, fee payment and reporting alerts always come through. Suggestions and offers do not exist. Missing the first kind costs a year; the second kind is why you distrust notifications.

You can correct us

Tap “This looks wrong” on any fee or date. You are reading these official pages harder than any machine — it is your year on the line. Three reports and we re-read the source and fix it for everyone.

Questions

Fair things to ask.

If it is free and has no ads, how does it make money?

Right now it does not. It is built and paid for by The Layout Office. If that changes it will be through something students choose to pay for — never by selling your details, and never by letting a college buy its way up the list. Both of those would break the only thing that makes this worth using.

Do you have fees for all 540 colleges?

No, and we would rather say so. Many colleges simply do not publish their fees online, and some publish them as scanned images no machine can read. Where we cannot confirm a figure from an official page, the app shows nothing rather than a guess. The number of confirmed colleges grows every day as more pages are checked.

Where do the fees and dates come from?

Colleges’ and exam boards’ own websites — nowhere else. Every figure in the app shows the exact page it came from and the date it was checked. Tap it and you go straight to the official source.

What do you actually store about me?

An anonymous ID, the colleges and exams you track, and anything optional you chose to enter — home state, category, budget, rank. No name, no phone number, no email, no location, no contacts. You can erase all of it from You → Delete my data, and it goes immediately. Details in the privacy policy.

What if a date in the app is wrong and I miss a deadline?

Always check the college’s own website before you pay a fee or submit a form — we link to it on every screen for exactly that reason. Colleges change dates at short notice and sometimes without announcement. Treat Nowlledge as a second pair of eyes, not as your only safeguard. If you spot a mistake, tap “This looks wrong” and we will re-read the source.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. Android first, because that is what most students applying in India are holding.
